The Politics of Housing Affordability: Is Housing Supply the Answer?
You are warmly invited to attend Larry Murphy’s Communique lecture The Politics of Housing Affordability: Is Housing Supply the Answer? today at 12pm in the Design Lecture Theatre (423-348).
Fast-tracking housing supply has assumed a central role in political responses to the enduring problem of housing affordability in New Zealand. This seminar critically examines the economic drivers of house prices and the dynamics of housing policy formation. Paying particular attention to the Housing accords and special housing areas act (2013), Larry Murphy will examine the potential for ongoing conflict between local and central government over the release of land for housing development.
Professor Murphy is a Professor of Property in the Business School at the University of Auckland.
No registration or RVSP is required for this event, but seating is limited so please arrive on time to ensure a seat.
